This summer, more than 100 outstanding teen musicians from 31 US states come together as the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA). Following an intensive two-week training residency at Purchase College, State University of New York (SUNY) and a concert in Carnegie Hall on July 14, this talented group of instrumentalists (ages 16–19), led this summer by Sir Andrew Davis, embarks on a seven-city North American tour in: Groton, MA; Joliette, Quebec; Nashville, TN; Dallas, TX; Jackson, WY; Stanford, CA; and San Diego, CA July.
NYO-USA 2023 Program includes new Carnegie Hall commissioned work by Valerie Coleman, Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique, and Barber and Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concertos.
The orchestra’s July 14 concert at Carnegie Hall will be heard by music lovers worldwide through the Carnegie Hall Live radio broadcast and digital series, created in partnership with WQXR. The orchestra's tour concert at the Dallas Symphony's Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center will be webcast live in collaboration with medici.tv.
